Monitor many Home Centers (if you are installer)

Hi, all.

We are installers of smart home systems. At this moment we have many finished projects but from time to time we do some fixes when something doesn't work.

It would be great to have some tool which allows to get information about many Home Centers and:

1) Show charts - for example cpu usage, number of dead nodes, number of discharged modules, downtime intervals.

2) Receive notifications in some cases - like HC2 is down, new dead node and so on.

For hardware server there are a lot of different solutions like Zabbix:

It allows to ping servers and get some system information.

For Home Centers this solution isn't perfect because NAT doesn't allows to get direct access to servers. Alternative solution would be to create some smart Scene for Fibaro HC2, which allows to get all system information and send somewhere (to some monitoring sever, parse this data and show as charts).

Has anybody faced with such task? If you have 20, 30 or more customers, it's very hard to monitor all of them and catch problems on time.

Well we wanted from Fibaro to implement SNMP to retrieve such data. But that was maybe 1 year or 2 years ago.

  • 1 month later...

I have started to write Scene, which could monitor activity of all physical devices, scenes, virtual devices and plugins (like some kind of Watchdog)

The idea is to check that every part of the system is active every XX minutes, if not email sent.

The interval of XX minutes configurable per device ID or group of device IDs.

I'm continue to work on than to include more information.....

Please let me know if you're interested and I'll post the code.

I would be interested to see how you have implemented this.

Thanks
