[SOLVED]Correct settings of the smoke sensor in Domoticz

mariusi

Question

Hi.

New to configuration, I bought a Z-stick Gen5 and made a network in Domoticz. All worked fine for one flood sensor (it was included, it still detects water, it pushed a notification).

But the smoke sensor somehow had "disabled" for all alarms in the tool (possibly because I replaced the battery?), so I manually changed those 2 settings and pressed "send configuration" to the device.

Now I wanted to test notifications, but I can't test the sensor like I did when I bought it last year (leaving a match to smoke near it for a few seconds).

Did I send an invalid configuration, like a delay? Am I testing it wrong?

First why you Pooling Fibaro devices?
Greenwave powernodes only needs to be pooled in Fibaro and domoticz.
1.sensor sensitivity try to set for high others sets looks to be good.

  • Does it matter that I'm testing with the bottom lid off? It's glued to the ceiling..

The battery is new, and I can see the color sequence when holding the button

    Hi @mariusi,

Did you try to test it with its Self-test:

    Self-test may be triggered manually:

    1. Make sure the device is powered
    2. Press and hold the B-button
    3. The visual indicator will glow white and the short alarm will sound
    4. Keep holding the B-button
    5. After 3 seconds from the first beep smoke chamber operation will be checked

Triggering fire alarm and beep mean positive result and should occur within 10 seconds. No fire alarm means that the sensor is malfunctioning.

    Hi. Self-test does work.

Then smoke sensor is OK. Did you get any alarm response on Domoticz? During self test smoke sensor sends to gateway alarm signal that will trigger any scenes same as during real fire alarm.

I wish I can help you more but don't have Domoticz, I have Fibaro HC2 and I have replaced battery on one of my smoke sensors few days ago without any problems. It wakes up immediately after  battery insertion and Self-test did trigger my Fire alarm scene.

  • Thanks a lot!

I'll mount it back and hope for the best.

No alarm in Domoticz either, I could wake it, but no ON signal for smoke or burglar (moving) sensors.
