Why is my Flood / Leak Sensor “Unavailable”

I have several FGFS-101 Flood Sensors.  On one of the FGFS-101 Flood Sensors I paired it with my Z-Wave hub using external DC power.  I never paired it using battery power.

After about 24 hours my iPhone is reporting that the FGFS-101 sensor is “Unavailable”.  I understand that this is normal when using internal battery power only. (To save battery power.)  It was my understanding that when the sensor has external DC power it would report into the hub periodically and not become “Unavailable”.

When this sensor detects moisture it does "wake up" and do its job. But I was hoping that by using external DC power I would be able to check on the status of the FGFS-101 sensor at any time.

Thanks.
