*new* Heat Controller - reviews?

Yesterday I discovered that Fibaro has a new module: a Heat Controller for your radiator. Because this is a new product, I couldn't find any review about it. Anyone here that hat experience with the product? Or is planning to buy some?

I dont think there are a lot of reviews yet The product is out for a few days only.
Plus Fibaro advertises it as the nr.1 thermostat, but I wonder about one thing... how does it know when to turn the boiler/cv install on or off and with opentherm in europe?
The whole idea behind a thermostat like Nest is to make sure it powers up slowly and does not use the entire power it has at once for better energy usage.

This regulates only the waterflow to one radiator. The idea behind it is that you have one per rooms so you can have different temperatures in different rooms.

I can't find how Fibaro sees this but I suspect that the boiler is still regulated the conventional way (Classic on/off thermostat or smart thermostat or ... )

 

I don't think this is the future on the long term. At the moment, new houses in Belgium have a lot of insulation, are air tight and a ventilation system with recuperation of the heat. This means that in reality your whole house is at the same temperature. Sources for colder rooms are eliminated: opening the front door can't result in a draft: everything else is air tight. Opening windows for ventilation is not necessary, ...

Battery will last for one year (full heating season).

Mine has not arrived yet, but you can count on me to say something as soon as I have used the Fib TRV for a few days...

 

Regarding my personal opinion on how to setup a heating system with TRV... Please have a look at this topic.

As you mentioned ... new houses ... but in Belgium there are more old then new houses. And if I build a new house I don’t think Fibaro is the Domotica solution I would choose.
