Reliable yr.no weather data?

jodohl

Question

This is really a question to the Fibaro development team:

I have installed a simple and VERY useful scene to control my electrical snow melting mats outside my house in Oslo, Norway. Previously a considerable amount of electricity was wasted turning on the mats between +2C and above -10 regardless of snow or rain. Now the simple IF Snow OR (Below +2C AND Rain) keeps consumption down and my front door free from snow & ice.

However: The Fibaro delivery of yr.no weather data sometimes fails totally. This morning my local yr.no app forecasts snow all morning. Outside it snows seriously. My Fibaro app tells me it is lightly cloudy, no snow or rain whatsoever. I have checked my location data, they are correct.

Anyone have any idea why the two yr.no weather data are different?

I have the same issue (in Oslo)

Using the YR plug-in.

I do experience that the weather info seems to stop updating every 30-50 days as well, only an reboot rectifies the problem.

  • Seems more like a question of too infrequent updates.

Serious snow at 09:00 am, HC2 yr.no plugin displayed lightly overcast, my iPhone yr.no correctly indicated snow for the next hours. Checked the remote status at 11:00 am. HC2 yr.no plugin correctly shows cloudy + snow. No reboot inbetween.

So Fibaro: How frequently is the yr.no plugin status updated? Any way this update rate could  be increased?
