Wallplug dimmable

geritz81

Question

I am looking for a simple wall plug that I can plug in a socket to switch a led lamp on and off but also be able to dim the lamp. Is the Fibaro wall plug capable to dim the light as well?

if not, is there another product which is capable of doing so? I saw a everspring wallplug but that seems to run in issues on a fibaro box (notification logs clotted up)

you can buy an buildin 230V dimmer unit from fibaro or qubino and mount it in a little box.

There is some installation work to do, but its workable.

plug-------------BOX-----------LAMP

BOX = inside the box is the dimmer module from fibaro / qubino.

works welll for me. I used it with my standing lamp in the living room

not anymore, As i have 2 hue lamps for this purpose.

the module i placed now at the bedroom in the ceiling electrical box.

I purchased a Fibaro dimmer and mounted it into a small box. This is working well with a regular bulb. But when I put in a led bulb

with the Fibaro bypass ( led bulb is only 5w) the lamp stays on even if I switch it off.

I think I am not connecting the bypass in a correct way. Any hints on how to connect it properly?

Tried the setup in the manual, but that’s not working.

See attached the way how I connected it without the bypass, 2 wire setup.

You say 2-wire setup but your photo shows 3-wire setup. 3-wire setup is good, I recommend it.

The schematic diagram in the manual is correct. One wire of the bypass to output, toghether with one side of the lamp. The leftmost terminal on your photo. I am not sure if that wire will fit in the grey terminal block without levers.

Other wire goes to N so the block with the orange levers. The wire should fit in one of those...

So the bypass is in parallel with the load (it is a kind of "dummy load").

What happens without the bypass? Does the LED glow or flicker when the dimmer is turned off?

please us blue wire for neutral.

if the light doesn't work as aspected, try rotate the powerplug for 180 degrees, perhaps the module really wants phase and neutral on the correct pins.
