Question

Posted

Dear friends,

have a problem with adding Home Energy Meter Gen5 (ZW095) from Aeotec to my HC2 (v4.150). The device was added but left unconfigured. It doesn't read value of currents and a voltage values shown on the screen but there is no change in time (see attached screen shoots). On the Aeotec web site I found out information that there is no information about compatibility of ZW095 with HC2 (https://aeotec.com/z-wave-gateways).  But on the forum I've seen some topics about setting up of ZW095 in the HC2 interface.

That's why I can't understand if it my personal issue with adding ZW095 or it's a real incompatibility.

The actual version can be requested from the Aeotec support: [email protected]

They are response quite rapidly, the main question will be about used type of HEM. In my case I use 3 phase 60Amps version (ZW095-C) , the appropriate FW in attachment.

But I've contacted the support more then have half year ago, maybe a newest version of FW is available already.

Thanks for reply, I have a ZW095 1PHASE 60A...I Have contact the support,  I wait a reply

It is too old firmware version 1.2, known to be buggy reporting to zwave interview.

What I did is to buy a UZB, than ask Aeotec for most recent firmware update, specifying my HEM exact model.

Firmware update went smoothly. Inclusion to HC2 also.

    Hi @Denis_K,

You can contact Aeotec via their support site, raising a ticket at:

Please login or register to see this link.

They are very responsive and helpful.

Following is what I received as an answer,  in common with your case, hope they will not mind sharing it.

I am not attaching provided files, it is better to contact them with your exact model, so you can get only relative to your item software and firmware update.

There is a firmware update, but it does require a Z-Wave USB Adapter in this case. The latest firmware is V1.4 in this case, which i have attached both 1.3 and 1.4 for 100A clamp 3 phase.

These are the general instruction sets to use it:

First remove/factory reset the device you wish to OTA update

    1. Set your Z-Wave gateway into unpair mode
    2. Tap the button on the device you will be OTA updating. (In this case the LED Strip, you'll need to reset your scenes/luup coding from here).
To perform an OTA firmware update (this is the same for all of our devices), you'll need (1) Z-Wave USB Adapter (Z-Stick Gen5/S2, UZB1, SmartStick+, etc) and (2) windows PC. Below are the steps:
    1. Unzip the .rar or .zip file attached to this email.
    2. Open up the folder and located the file with extension .ex_, rename this file to end with .exe
    3. Plug in your Z-Stick Gen5 or other Z-Wave USB Adapters that you may have (if this is the first time plugging it in, wait a minute while the drivers should be automatically installed, if not, please reach back out to me on this step).
    4. Open up the .exe file that you renamed in step 2 to open up the OTA firmware update software.
    5. To connect Z-Stick to software by selecting (Categories -> Settings) on the top left side of the software.
    6. The list should populate with your Z-Stick or other Z-Wave USB Adapter and show any nodes connected to it if any. (controller at the top of the list)
    7. Click on "Add Node"
    8. Tap the button on DEVICE (LED Strip in this case), which will add into your Z-Stick network as a new node. It should appear at the bottom of the node list.
    9. Click on the new node that appears and ensure that it is highlighted.
    10. Now on the upper middle side, click on the "Firmware" Tab
    11. Click on "Get" Button in the new page
    12. You may need to tap the "Update" Button at the bottom of this page that newly appears.
    13. The green bar should be moving slowly, and you should see a large amount of communication happening. This will take roughly 5 minutes, so take a quick coffee break.
    14. When done, a small popup will appear and say "success", go ahead and click OK.
    15. Now select "Remove Node"
    16. Then tap the button on DEVICE to factory reset it.
    17. Close the software up.
    18. Follow Steps 4 - 17 to firmware any other of the same DEVICE.

Hi, I'm interested in your test because I want to buy the same device in order to measure electrical consumption but also photovoltaic production, there is a versione of the Aeon Labs energy meter with two clamps...

Do you know if it's possible to measure also the production? I read in some forum that Fibaro HC2 has problem in reading negative values. Negative values are sent by the clamp connected to the photovoltaic system.

On the clamps is arrow mentioned which should relates to the direction of current. If you place clamps in a right way you should get two positive values, where one will show consumption and other - generation.

Hiya, anyone have the parameters screenshot to hand - I've got the 3 phase, 3 wire unit and its not really displaying anything useful at the moment!

    Hi everyone

    I've got a HC2 on 4.531 beta

The Aeotec 60A 3 Phase ZW095 is on FW 1.4

Only the Total Panel for Watt and kWh is updating automatically. The other Panels are updated for once, if I press the button "Read configuration" in the advanced settings.

As users in other threads have posted, the kWh panel stays at 0.00 kWh

Does somebody know how to get the HC2 to update the Aeotec readings ongoing?

Please, is there a way to update the firmware directly from the home center without using a USB Stick?

I have the HEM gen5 single phase.

I got the fw update version 1.37 from Aeotec and updated it through Zwave.me stick which went smoothly.

Integration in the HC2 is absolutly horrable, it gives me an unconfigured device.. tried adding and deleting in as well secure as well unsecure modus..

Anyone clue how to get this working ?
