Soil moisture sensor

Ishan Bhalla

Question

Hello,

Does anyone know a reliable zwave enabled soil moisture sensor that's available?

Am looking for a finished product like the Fibaro or Aeotec  sensors.

I want to be able to water the garden after considering -

1. Input from the weather plugins like yahoo etc for time of expected rain. So that i can decide when to water.

2. A soil moisture reading to determine if any watering is needed, if so then how much.

Regards

Ishan

You should be able to use a Fibaro RGBW module and a LB-797 soil moisture sensor.

Do you own one and did you connect it to the RGBW?

No but I know that www.uk-automation.co.uk recommend this setup.

Thank you. Maybe they are not aware of an issue that affects some people, in some situations, but not all. It is called "phantom menace (RGBW)". You might want to read this topic before you buy this setup.

I am involved in this discussion.
