Virtual device as room temperate

Willem-Jan

Question

If a temperature sensor is installed in a room, that one is selected as temperature for the room (displayed at several places on the UI and used in heat control or so).

Is is possible to have a value of virtual device defined as temperature of the room?

Sorry, I found another item about this subject.

I am not sure what you mean by having a virtual device value defined as the room temperature? You could just ignore the physical temperature device you have in the room and decide for having your own temperature stored in a global value. However, the physical device will still show the correct temperature so what is the point?

  • The virtual device is capturing temperature from an external device.
This is not a z-wave device.
Therefore, it does not show up as (possible) temperature of the room and can also not be used in the heating panel.

Tomasn, you can check temp by own scene

    for example:

Please login or register to see this code.

scene use heater panel /fibaro/en/panels/temperature.html, but no linked devices or thermostat devices here.

Could you link to this item? I want to do the same.

E.g.: I have a heatpump that has outside temperature sensor as well as an indoor (livingroom) sensor. I can read those temperatures with LUA and want to set room temperature in HC2 without having to add zWave sensors. Is that possible?

No, there is no option to do that.

The only solution is to make a LUA script to read the heat panel for the settings and do the actual control within the script.
But the temperature does not showup as room temperature.
You can create a VD to show the temperature.

Ok, thanks. In my search I came across this solution:

Please login or register to see this link.

. Is that no longer possible, are plugins no longer supported?

AFAIK no API endpoint for plugin uploading.
