Hello everyone,

Here is an article to discover the process of association of a module Zwave S2

Prerequisites of the experience

  • RAZ2 Controller [ZMEERAZ2] (Zwave.Me) Z-Wave Chip (Chip): ZW0500
  • Serial API Update Chip: Version 05.23 | After OTA firmware update and Bootloader of the chip [05.04> 05.07> 5.22> 5.23]
  • Z-Uno Update 2.1.3 Bootloader Module with Arduino IDE 1.8.5
  • Application Architecture compatible S2 SDK Version: 6.71.01: Server ZWay Beta v3.0.0-rc14

Have a good reading:

  1. And Fibaro HC2 or HCL where are we?
  2. No information on the Chip Sigma version (300 or 500 series)?
  3. OTA firmware update / bootloader is it possible?
  4. How to have this information ?

These are crucial information for the purchase, continuity or abandonment of Fibaro controllers.

HC2 have Sigma 300, but for me a software system like for Zwave+ should work.

Hi @captainigloo ,

HC2 and HC2 works on older Z-Wave chip (gen 300), so it does not support S2 security. For S2 it has to have Z-Wave 500 chip (change of HW) and device has to be certified after April 2017.

regards,

Jakub

I've read the article and I can highly recommend it!

As you say, Z-Uno 2.1.3 supports S2 and this gives us an idea of the complexity of the S2 code. The S2 variant of Z-Uno limits the user code to 6 Kb (only), while S0 gives you 28 kB. This is a 500 series chip. The FGT-001 TRV supports S0 and S2 but at the moment I cannot test it, I use my RaZ for another project. I wasn't planning on buying a controller based on the series 500 chip... I'll try to wait until they release their arm-based SoC ;-)
