Get Heatit thermostat relais state in LUA

Question

Hello,

Is it possible to read the relay state from the Heatit thermostat with LUA?

i can read the setpoint, roomtemp, but not if the heating/cooling is on or off

fibaro:getValue(50, "value")) >> setpoint

fibaro:getValue(51, "value")) >> roomtemp

I also tried a lot of the other getValue commands, like 'mode' and 'thermostatState' but nothing happens

And of course i can create a scene that calculates the difference between roomtemp and setpoint,

so that the relay is on if roomtemp - setpoint > diff but i like to check the real state

Hello,

Yes it is possible, but you need Heatit thermostat version 1.9+, where you have extra slave device, which represents internal relay. If you have lower version, you could make association to a external relay (e.g. Fibaro switch 2) and read that one. Otherwise it is not possible.

Regards,

Jakub

  • Thanks!

Did you or someone else update the firmware by OTA or by the cable?

Some websites offer a cable to update the firmware

But on the HeatIT website you can see 'Firmware updates (OTA)'

OTA = Over the Air, so you don't need a cable, you can wireless update via zwave with Fibaro HC2 or another controller.

    Hi Jakub

Does your Heatit thermostats updated to fw 1.92 provides proper temperature  to hc2 (fw 4.5x)? I have problems, it does not report temperature updates. There is no communication issues, setpoinst and modes can be set remotely immediately. Temperature (from internal sensor, from floor sensor) are not updated (I have 9pcs of HeatIt installed). Soft reconfiguration only cause singe update, and values stays for ever again.

    Hi

Last time, it provided correct temperatures, when my colleague tested it. Frankly i did not touched Heatit thermostats since we replaced them with

ones. When my colleague checked them, then it was ok on 4.530 i believe.

Have you tried to reach Fibaro support or Fibaro partner for Poland regarding this issue? If its updated on thermostat, but not via Z-Wave, then i believe, they can look into it.

Meanwhile I found the reason. HeatIt updated to 1.92, to report temperatures to main controller, requires additional assocations, as below:

To get reports from Internal sensor, Group 3 has to be set to main controller
To get reports from External sensor, Group 4 has to be set to main controller

To get reports from Floor sensor, Group 5 has to be set to main controller
