Projector Screen

Captain007

Question

I have a projector screen and i want to connect a fibaro device to the 3 buttons or the 4 wires that go to the motor will the roller shutter 2, or would the relay switch be better? I want connect straight to the wires going to the blind motor? Would it need 12v output? I would rather use the roller shutter 2 for up down and limits, has anyone got experiance and advice on how to do this.

Judging from the photographs, I would say that the 12V is only used  for the control circuit with the three buttons, as the power supply only delivers 12V/50mA.

So the motor of the projection screen is probably 240V, but you need to verify that, to be sure that you can use the Roller Shutter 2.

The Roller Shutter can NOT operate 12V motors, only (110-)240V motors.

So if your screen indeed has a 240V motor, you don't need 12V and you can connect the motor directly to the Roller Shutter as indicated in the manual of the Roller Shutter:

As you can no longer use the three buttons you now have, you need to install up/down switches; they come in many forms, typical for blinds/screens.

Something like this:

Any type that has 2 separate non-latching buttons will do.

I hope this helps. It's how I control my projection screen, and it works fine.

  • Ok Great will give it a shot, I'm hoping you can you set limits with the roller shutter 2 device? I was told these motors take 240v and they have some type of converter at the motor side to 12v? Maybe i should try measure the voltage going to the motor somehow when i press the up or down button.

Follow the instructions when including your roller shutter device within the HC. It will tell you how it calculates its up and down max with the rollershutter.

  • ok great thanks, got it working with vera hub, the only thing is you can't set limits for the percentages exactly right as its 100% fully closed and 17% would be would be where i would like 0% to be, although with up and down the limits are perfect with the perimeter set to 43 seconds to open to the point i want. hope this makes sense.
