Can't save static IP Address.

Dunkigrease

Question

I have an HC2 primary and an HL secondary.  I wanted to set them both with a IP static address  in my home network.  I have a Huawei router which does not provide IP reservation, so I adjusted the DHCP range to xxx.xxx.xxx.190

I set the HL to xxx.xxx.xxx.191 and saved.  Worked like a dream.  I then tried to set the HC2 to xxx.xxx.xxx.192.  When I saved it it won't save and just keeps going back to the same dynamic IP.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks

Is is all about your router. If you cannot reserve IP adresses then you cannot use static adresses. And it will not help to address IP numbers outside the routers range.

Solution? Buy a router that can do what you want. Remember that Huawei have a bad reputation security wise in USA.
