Association Group 2

Geo_

Question

How do I get the Motion Sensor to send On/Off messages to control another node?

The manual says to use Association Group 2, but this group sends Sensor Alarm Reports.   On/off messages are only sent to the lifeline (gateway).

How do I do this?

Groups and parameters depend on firmware version (which also indicates hardware revision)...

or older model

I am not sure where you got your info. The Fibaro motion sensor sends the 'basic set command' to devices in association group 2. If you connect a dimmer with a lamp, the basic set command will turn it on and later off.

Parameter 12 allows you to stop the lamp from going off again

Parameter 14 allows you to determine the dimming value (e.g. upon motion detection, turn on the lamp at value 60)

Parameter 16 allows you to determine the 'off' value (e.g. instead of turning off, dim the lamp to level 10)

Does that help?

edit: groups 3 and 5 cover tamper alarm and group 4 motion alarm

  • Thanks, it appears I have an older model.  All makes sense now.   We had a stock of them left from a project a while ago so I should have suspected they were older ones.
