223 & 213 switches not discoverable

ChrisF

Question

I have a number of 223 and 213 switches. I have successfully included them in a SmartThings network, but have now excluded them to move them to a new Zwave gateway. I have successfully seen the devices with the new gateway but had to remove them again for some configuration issues, but now cannot discover the devices again.

I put the Fibaro switches in discovery mode (3 clicks of the S1 button) as I did before, but the gateway never sees them.

I have tried factory resetting the Fibaro switches (long hold followed by yellow light followed by button push), but this makes no difference.

I have successfully added other Zwave products to the new gateway so I know this device is working correctly.

Any ideas why these devices have stopped being discoverable? Is there a “super factory reset” option to really wipe them and start again, beyond the method detailed above? Could I have bricked them with one too many exclude/include cycles?

Open to suggestions!

Please try to exclude them again from the system...

  • Yep that did it - thanks. I didn’t know you could potentially have to exclude devices more than once. They were not listed in the device page of the gateway, but when turned on the LED was flashing green rather than red, so clearly not excluded fully.

The required triple click rate to get the device into discoverable mode, is still annoyingly hit or miss though...
