No led indicator is shown. Broken?

Jeru

Question

I just bought my first Single Switch, and am therefore completely a newbie. I believe I wired it correctly, but notice some strange things: 1) independent on how I push the (on/off) light switch, there is power on both L’s, S1 and N according to my meter. There never is a current on Q. Does not sound normal to me... 2) In the manual I read something about a led that should change color. I never saw a led on, ever. May be due to bad wiring, or maybe it is broken? Added is a pic on how I wired it. Could someone help, please?

Leave this job to someone who has knowledge of the electric! Your wiring is really dangerous!
The yellow-green cable is a protective ground and must not be used in this way.

  • Thanks, Dreambox. You‘re certainly right. But my question remains. Should I assume it is broken and return it to the shop, or is there another explanation?
