Can't correctly connect Wall Plug

aidsoid

Question

Hello, I have many Fibaro Wall Plug (2500W) devices (they were connected to another z-wave network, connected to another z-wave controller. The old controller is dead now.) and when I’m trying to add (include) any of this devices to my new Home Center 2 controller, I have a problem with it. The log:

Please login or register to see this code.

And after that I see what 2 devices are included (why not one?) and with strange status: Not configured. See screenshot. If I try to switch off or switch on the device - it works.

I have tried to reconfigure this device but no luck: Reconfiguration Failed. See screenshot.

I have tried to reset the device like in this instruction

Please login or register to see this link.

.

  • Insert the device into a socket

  • Press and hold the B-button

  • Wait for the visual indicator to glow yellow

  • Release the B-button

  • Press the B-button again, briefly

  • Successful reset will be confirmed with the visual indicator changing colour to red

  • Visual indicator and Wall Plug’s relay will turn off

It resets successfully but the problem repeats when I try to add (include) the device.

After all I restore my controller from backup. I’m trying again and again but the problem is still persist. Only 1 form about 15 Fibaro Wall Plugs is connected correctly now. Please, help me with it. What should I do?

  • I've lost my day but I found the solution!

@titopringles Thanks for suggestion but I found my own way how to fix it.

In my case my Wall Plug devices had old firmware. My algorithm was:

    0. Make backup for controller.

    1. Add (include) the Wall Plug. It has status: Not configured. Not a problem right now...

    2. Go to device settings -> Advanced tab

Please login or register to see this image.

    3. Find "Firmware update" section. Press "Check" button. My device had 22.22 version. Latest version was 25.25. Press "Start" button for update firmware on the device.

    4. After device update restore controller from backup.

    5. Reset the Wall Plug as described here

Please login or register to see this link.

    • Insert the device into a socket
    • Press and hold the B-button
    • Wait for the visual indicator to glow yellow
    • Release the B-button
    • Press the B-button again, briefly
    • Successful reset will be confirmed with the visual indicator changing colour to red
    • Visual indicator and Wall Plug’s relay will turn off

    6. Add (include) device again and now it has correct state.

I think Fibaro engineers should create notification something like "Please, check for firmware updates for device" if after inclusion process device has "Not configured" status or automatically check for updates after include and show notification if updates are available.
