Help connecting Fibaro Universal Sensor to a Driveway alarm

Mad_marko

Question

Hi all,

I’m trying to wire a Guardline Driveway Motion sensor’s output to a Fibaro Universal sensor, and wondered if anyone who’d done it before could help me out please? My idea for how to do it is below, the colours i’ve used have no relevance to the coloured cables of Fibaro.

Top is the Fibaro and bottom the Guardline device.   What do you think?

No. You do not need the "blue" line in the UBS GND. Connect it in 12V- and Guardline. Don't forget to add 12V +/- to guardline too.

    Thank you for the response.

I'm not sure I understand. How is the Fibaro UBS powered?

I was planning on using an old internet router's power cable with the end cut off it for the 12v - and 12v +

Going on your diagram that will power both the guardline and the Fibaro, correct?

Yes, but you can give power for the GuardLine from elsewhere. The other connection is the essence.

I am powering the GuardLine from a 12V PSU it came with, and hoping to power the Fibaro via the 12V+ and 12V-  from the GuardLine, but I'm having no joy in SmartThings finding the Fibaro, any ideas please @Milan Takacs?

That is good. You can do in that way. Fibaro UBS is small. You can hide it somewhere next to the GuardLine, or GuardLine's PSU. (maybe UBS can work from that PSU too)

can't get it to work.  Hooked it up as per @TurboWannaBe's confidence boost to just 12V power, and it appears to pair in ST, but doesn't appear as per the above.

Yes the intention is to get UBS to work from the 12V output of the Guardline.
