Snapshot by mail (Hikvision ip camera)

kevin

Question

Hello,

I want that my HC2 sends a snapshot to me by mail from my Hikvision DS-2DE4A220IW-DE.

I see the video of my Hikvision in my HC2 and the app, but snapshots still not working ;(. I have created the LUA scene SendPhotoToUser to my user ID 2.

JPG path: Streaming/channels/1/picture

MJPG stream path: Streaming/channels/102/Preview

There should be something wrong with the JPG path, so I have contacted Hikvision for the path url's of Hikvision camera's. (See attachment for document).

The document shows that Snapshot using HTTP URL should be;

http://<IP address of IPC>:<HTTP port>/Streaming/channels/1/picture.

(NOTE: If the HTTP port of the device is still 80 (default), then “:<HTTP port>” is not required.)

So for me it's:

this works in the browser but not in the HC2. I tried with HTTP port and without the port, and with and without http:// and the beginning.

Who could help me out with this? :-D

Kevin

I'm having the same problem - HC2 fails to send a snapshot via mail. Other cams are OK.

Using a Hikvision DS-2CD1043G0-I

Firmware - V5.5.53 build 180929

Using Net HDD NAS storage.

Quite sure the paths are OK as the HC2 is displaying the live stream.

Fibaro mobile IOS app picks up the live stream ok.

Browser displays the jpg path as a still image - i.e snapshot.

Browser also displays mjpg path as a live stream.

The paths below in full are;

JPG - /Streaming/channels/1/picture

MJPG - /Streaming/channels/102/httpPreview

Any Suggestions?

Thanks...

Hi Kevin,

I have a theory about this function not working unless there is local sd card storage inside the camera.

My camera has no micro-SD card slot in it.

Does yours?

  • I had to check it but yes it does. I need to disassemble the whole camera to access the sd card slot. I also have an other Hikvision camera, I need to check if this one has a sd card slot. Maybe I can do it today, but first it needs to stop raining.

  • Hi @morpheus75

I inster the LUA line by using the collom on the left side, go to the camera, select sendPhotoToUser

and user ID 2, but no photo in my mail(also not in spam)

    I use these paths:

    JPG path: Streaming/channels/1/picture

    MJPG stream path: Streaming/channels/102/Preview

  • Sadly that doesn't work either for me.  I have 2 Hikvision camera and both aren't working. I changed the MJPEG path to the one you use and restarted everything after that because sometimes that helps. But no, still no mail.

As camera model I use "Other Model"

I don't have to do anything in the camera UI right?

have a look at these 2 youtube videos

first video goes through the setup and URL's and teh 2nd video talks about the change in encryption of the newer hikvision cameras

thats how i setup mine and all my clients

    hope this helps...

  • I know these videos, I have used these to get video of the camera’s in Fibaro.

I don’t use a Hikvision NVR but a Synology NAS, makes that a difference?

The nvr doesnt make a difference.

At the moment in cannot think of another reason why it wouldn't work?

    Will update once I do.

I am having the same problems with my new Annke (subbrand of Hikvision) 4K camera's.
I bought 4 of these standalone IP camera's.
I now have 3 installed and from those 3 one won't send the screenshot.
The other two work fine, everything is setup the same in HC2.
It started working after a few days for one evening, but stopped again the next day.
The interface just shows the image, I think somehow Fibaro blocks the screenshots for some reason.
Maybe because the screenshots are too big? I think they are over 1 MB.

Everything else on the camera just works great, When I enter the URL in IE it will show the screenshot fine.
The other two that do work are exactly the same, I even loaded the config from the other camera's into the one that doesn't work. Just changed the name after that but still won't send the screenshot.
These screenshots are used for security when the alarm I made in the HC2 goes off, so it is very important for this to work.

    Anybody find any solution?

And another problem I fixed by bypassing the Fibaro services.
Used my php server to create php files that download the screenshots from the camera, send them as attachment to my pushover account and to my e-mail.
The php files are called using a VD and all scenes press the buttons when required to set things in motion.

    hi

    fibaro:call(ID, "sendPhotoToUser", "2")

this should work for any camera.

i have various different model of hikvision ip cameras and every one of them is sending me a photo to my email

substitute 'ID' with ID of your camera

'2' is the email ID of the superuser

    thanks

PS none of my cameras have an SD installed
