Hi! I am trying to update the Roller Shutter 3 from v5.0 to v5.1 with HC2. The update always fails. HC2 is on latest firmware. Any suggestions? Thanks!

i exclude and reinclude in unsecured mode and start the update --> OK :)

It is probably a too long distance between your HC2 and your Roller Shutter.
Place them as close together as you can (~2 m) and try again.

Thank you for your quick reply but I already tried different Roller Shutter 3 modules in the same room (about 1-2m distance) as the HC2 with no luck.

Check if the fourth diode from the right lights up or flashes intensely: If it does, you probably have problems with one or more devices.
Then this can interfere with your update. The fourth diode should only flash quickly a little from time to time.

Have the same problem... Any suggestion how to resolve this issue?

Same here. Most others work fine. 3 out of 19 show that behavior

Based on some other posts, it seems the problem Might be with devices that were added in secure mode. Can Fibaro confirm (and, if it applies, fix)? An option could be to remove and add again in non secure mode but some devices are hard to reach and would need quite a bit of work. So fixing the software seems a better way.

With my HC2, I could never update RS3 from Firmware 5.0 to 5.1.

Now I've tried with my HCL and the update has been installed right away.

Both Homecenters are on the latest Beta Firmware 4.542.

    Very strange behavior!

What is the message regarding failure?

I would suggest closing the distance between the HC2 and Roller Shutter. In some cases the distance between both should be like ~~20cm.

Please, try to perform update again.

Also, maybe in the time during the update the device was triggered or used in a scene or anywhere else. Then it also may result in update fail.

    Hi Fibaro,

is there any new insight meanwhile?
I do have the same issue with a couple of RS 3 on HC2 with v4.580.

    With kind regards
    ChVi

    Hi,

I also have the same problem with HC3.

I'm working in secure mode, and tried also with distance of 10cm.

    I'll appreciate any suggestion.

We are working on a fix, if devices are included securely update will fail.

    Hi, still the same issue:

"The device was unable to receive the requested firmware data."

    HCL 4.6 | Fibaro 223 V5.0. ->5.1 unsecured connected | 1-2m Distance

When do we could expect the Fix to finally Fix the FGR223 Roller calibration?

Upgrading in secure mode is a problem. Unfortunately, this means removing and then adding it as insecure. As a result, your Device ID will shift. It's solved here in the form of a HomeTable table, but it's a crutch with a big B! I'd rather see the DeviceID bound to a MAC or S / N address. No unofficial modifications (HT).
