Question

Very strange observation I need to get some feedback on:
I have in total 5 FGK-101 sensors in my house, all having wired up a DS18B20 temp sensor connected. Worked fine for more than 2 years. Now I started noticing once the battery died, the sensors went offline. So far normal.
However, no matter what battery I put in to replace the depleted one, one sensor did not switch on last year, but lack of time I never digged deeper, thinking something was not right with replacement battery.
However, 2 sensors "died" last week, and now 4 out of 5 sensors remain DEAD, no blue led when new battery is inserted, nothing. Tried several brands (always ER14250 3,6V batteries), check with a voltage meter the batteries are giving 3,6V, even switched a battery from a working sensor into a dead one (no effect), and vice versa (new battery from dead sensor >works fine in (last) working sensor).
With or without temp sensor connected, no difference, unit remains completely switched off. So cannot even reset them as they are not powering on at all.
What is going on here? Are these sensors all dead? If so, not very high quality if you need to replace them once the battery is depleted!!
I am out of ideas other than to replace them, or just abandon them completely.
Thanks for any suggestions
