Websockets.....2019

What about adding websockets client protocol support?

What about SSE protocol?

What about hashlib?

What about https support?

I beg for all of the above, as many users.

More and more APIs use websockets, https, hashing....All these missing parts keeping HC to stone age. I suppose that the reason is that cpu load will skyrocket but still keep a second thought about that.

I m afraid at the end, HC users will stay with very untrusted/obsolete/outdated services in next years :(

@FSE , I can submit all the suggestions, but I need examples of use or reasons for implementation - how it will benefit the system and users?

What's the reason for this and how users will benefit from it?

This has been already discussed a couple of times. It also was suggested in the same category :)

Hello,

I need websockets protocol for control all new LG TV WebOs TVs', maybe other AV too.

FIBARO LGTV plugin doesn't work for new LGTV's from cca. 2014 models.

There will be no need for calling RefreshStates so many times to get the actual status of modules/devices etc.

It will generate lower load on CPU and net.

Just look how it is actually done in your own web interface:

Don't you think it's kind of overload?

I am not an expert but I can understand that will overload HC2. Still there are other ways to be deployed. Building by Fibaro an online hashing API, online converting SSE calls to another less demanding protocols could be a way to keep our gateways cool and happy.

I know that people will say that is not acceptable from security point but thinking how it done right now by using IFTTT mostly to communicate with these kind of APIs, it is also on same page about security wise.

Fibaro could build their own online Framework toolbox for those who like to take a step further and deep dive on almost any kind API is available.
