Wall Plug reports wrong value

perjar

Question

Hi,

I have a wall plug that has worked fine for over a year but has started to report completely bizarre values recently.

I am using it to measure power consumption on a ventilation unit  which has 1200 W as its maximum rating. The typical consumption is around 750W when switched on.

The power plug has started to report power consumption around 2700W which can't be correct.

I know is not correct due to its max power being 1200W and also because I have a second power meter in parallell which reports the normal 750W.

I did a soft reset of the power plug in the HC2 and that actually made the plug measure correctly for a few hours, but then it went back to reporting too high values again.

Any ideas?
