Smart Implant with SmartThings

BenM

Question

Hi there,

I just purchased a Smart Implant to connect my smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarms to my SmartThings system.  Before I try to write a Device Handler to make it work, does anyone already have a Smart Implant Device Handler they would be willing to share?

Thanks,

Ben

Ben, have you made any progress? I can help test.

Currently I am getting the run around from Fibaro and Samsung, both pointing at each other for a handler. Really disappointing.

This is the exact product I need but useless unless I can integrate it. Silly me assumed it was ready for market..

I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, unfortunately.  I will definitely post back if I have something.  If anyone from Fibaro support has something we can try, it would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello,

I am afraid that there is no official Device Handler for Smart Implant yet.

Here you can find our devices that work with SmartThings :

Please login or register to see this link.

Here you can find ready codes and instruction on how to add handlers to other FIBARO devices in SmartThings:

We cooperate with SmartThings to make our devices compatible with their system so I hope support for the Smart Implant will be available in the near future.

    Hi All,

There is a quick way to get the Implant working on Smartthings to convert a 'dumb' smoke / Co2 detector into a 'smart' detector. I have used a Webcore script (piston) to do so.

In Smartthings I have used the generic Z-Wave Button Device Handler. This returns 2 different values depending on if the' button' has been pressed or not. In the Not State the variable Button returns 'held' in the Pressed State the variable Button returns 'down_hold'. In Webcore the variable Button can be picked up and passed into a global variable and then used to control whatever you want to do. I now have this working and sending out notifications. I have a test rig that takes power from the alarm and sends a signal to Input 1 / 2 using the voltage generated to set the actual sounder / strobe off which then sets the variable 'Button' to 'down_hold'.

    Hope this helps

    Conrad.

Any updates? I really need a device handler for smartthings, otherwise I will be forced to sell it and change device ?
