Question

Posted

Hi all,

The last couple of months i’m using TheHomeRemote as an alternative dashboard tablet (ipad in my case) app to monitor and use my smart devices.

My requirements where as follow:

- make my own design, without limitations

- total fibaro support (scenes, VD etc.)

- Low costs (THR designer tool is free, for the app you only pay 4 dollars (once))

- large compatiblity (fibaro, sonos, hue, domoticz, itach etc etc etc)

- active development and forum

Cause i wanne improve the dashboard, i’m curious if there are more members which are using an alternative app and how they designed their dashboard.

    I am in the proccess of deisgning my app for my iPad 9.7” using Figma (design app) but I am finding the designer app from thehomeremote to be very complicated. Did you design the whole app yourself and how much time did it take you to finish the whole thing?

    Nice1 Stiven!

    yes i did designed it myself (completely). It took me about a few days (included lay-out) only.

    when you fill in your hc2 cridentials in a new project, the programm will ask you if you wanne generate new variables and pages, also it will make new links to every scene and device you have in your homecenter. After you have done this (a few minutes), you have a good start with a project which enables you to use lights, devices and run scenes. After this you can make your own lay-out etc.

    Tip: start with the designer programm (free) on your pc/laptop and check if it works out for you. Just pm me when you need help or info?

    Wow... it looks very nice!

    Do you mind sharing you're design?

    It would help me a lot.

    Hello,

    I am currently using an app called Figma (it’s free) to desing Thehomeremote. The design part is the easy one for me, but translating this into the designer app will be hard. If you guys want me to share the project link, I would do that happily. Here are some photos of what I have achieved until now. @rickydehaas Do you have to be in the same network with the HC2 to access it because I am new to this, what does the app mean by the Host Name, is it the ip of the HC2. (As I am on holiday, meaning that I cannot access HC2 via IP.)

    @Stiven

    Connection is made by the IP-adress, for safety it’als only available on the LAN

    @Remi

    thanks! Will share, but need some time to delete cridentials, personal stuff etc. Also i’m currently designing a new dashboard for our livingroom, so properly will share this new project.

    In the meanwhile you just can start a new project in TheHomeRemote. After filling in your HC2 cridentials (and Sonos, Harmony etc.) it will automaticly makes a example (working) project for you, with heating, camera's, devices, lights etc.

    @rickydehaas Looks very good. Have you been able to get a file you can share? Would love to start my own dashboard based on what you already have.
