How to include Smart Implant

ArjanM

Question

I've bought a new smart implant and used a 12v DC adapter to power it using the red (power) and blue (gnd) wire. I've checked that the wires are correctly provided +12v DC.

I don't see any LED on the device indicating that it's powered up, but I don't know if there is any LED?

Then I tried to include the device in my Fibaro Home Center Lite installation. I've pressed the button on the smart implant 3 times quickly. Also I tried to do it a bit slower.

But no new device is found.

I also tried to include the smart implant in another z-wave installation, using an Aeotec z-stick and using Domoticz. Also there no device is found.

I've returned the smart implant to Amazon and ordered a new one. The new one is acting again completely equal to the first one.

So my thought is that the device is not broken, but I'm probably making a mistake.

What am I doing wrong?

Should the smart implant show any sign of life when powered up?

Yes, green LED blinks a few times by power up.

Do you use enough Amps, like 2 Amp/12Volt?

EDIT, i see 300mA at 12 volt, that is way to low.....

    @ArjanM did you measure 12vdc?

    Yes, I've measured the 12vdc, seems fine.

    @ArjanM i don't know.

    Perhaps try to exclude the device in you're system.

    click 3 times the B button should do it.

    Excluding or including both does not seem to work.

    See attached pics for current installation.

    @ArjanM please measure if the red wire is positive

    Yes I checked this to be sure, before connecting the smart implant. Double checked everything.

    @ArjanM Then there is no reason why is shouldn't work

    perhaps try at a friends house, you are using the latest homecenter firmware?

    try remove the "kroonsteen" twist the wires together, test again and then try another powersupply

    I agree with @rvelthoen, try to use a adapter with at least 1A ..

    Thanks, will try that!

    Edit: Used an adapter now that provides 12v dc 1.25A, now the device shows a LED and is alive.

    Thanks all for your help!

    Hello

    should the inclusion also work when i add only power? or should In1 also be connected?

    the device is only red blinking and the inclusion is not working.

    any idea?

    - to include/use only power supply is necessary, everything else if optional

    To comment the other messages, there is no need for 12V 1.25A power supply, and for sure smart implant does NOT consume 300mA at 12V. This are examples of "bad power supply" and "wrong measurments" (try to hold 12V / 1.25A, or let say 15W glowing wire for few seconds, and compare that pain to the temperature of smart Implant^^). It is important to not use such cheap *abuse* power supplies, they provide everything but not what smart Implant Need - a clean supply.

    You can try to add the device not with the B-button, but with the help of an input. The function is the same, but the button is clicked incorrectly.
    Try to use removal from the zwave network first (with uset the inputs).
