  • Well, u need another PC to host it (first of all)

Also, its a huge application and it needs resourdes (HCL not have one)

I have expirience with homebridge on remote PC and was not happy about it.

I have small system, but even now there are 64 devices (logical), homebridge supports upto 100 devices and not covers most of requests

Homebridge using polling once in X seconds, and here we have instant event feedback

  • I have managed to start HC2 4.560 under VMware, so here is the test sample of homekitten for HC2

    Installation:

Please login or register to see this code.

This should work for any new OS firmwares (4.500-4.560).

    Report the feedback here, please

Upd: tested and works, Tar reuploaded with fixed path (bin -> sbin)

You can use the keyboard+tv (console) or SSH. Yes, You need your HC2 root password.

There were root password read exploits for older fw versions. 4.560 - some holes were closed.

    HC2 is not like HCL:

HCL root password is hardcoded and constant for all consoles (root HHS login id disabled, so thats normal)

HC2 root password is stores on AVR controller and unique for every console. There r many ways to get it out or to hijack.

  • Another approach is to add fibaro to mqtt bridge and to host a broker on the HC* side

This will be usefull for connecting dashboards
