Fibaro dimmer 2 with multiple led drivers.

RoffPoff

Question

The manual says that you can only connect ONE transformer to the dimmer. The led spots that I've planned to get do all have individual 230v "drivers". Are these drivers same as the manual's "transformers" and hence it will not work to connect 9 drivers to 1 dimmer? (total 80W)

It will work fine no problem

In my installation work fine 3 transformers (electronic) , but I needed it change to same model to synchronize dimming.

While multiple drivers (all same model) work fine, i highly doubt that 80W in total for a LED installation will work. LED drivers do generally have a pretty significant inrush current and i suspect the dimmer will turn off instantly. In the worst case the dimmer will burn through and fibaro support will blame you (got that in writing for 2 dimmers burned by a 48W installation (8 spots) and a 36W installation (3 spots)

    Thanks for the response!

This is truly the land of confusion. The dimmer is rated at 250W for resistive load. Some documentation says that for LED load you should have at least 50% margin and the manual itself says that LED load is OK up to 200VA. Even though some portion of the LED driver load apparently is imaginary the two specs don't compute to me. In any case after my initial post I found a list of compatible dimmers for the LED light in which the Fibaro dimmer was actually listed and the maximum number of lights, with was 20! Hence I'm going to assume that my planned 9 will be totally OK.
