Unable to include devices - learning mode error

Guest

Question

Guest

Good day all,

HC2 Firmware 4.570

I'm unable to set the HC2 in learning mode.

Pressing add device fails with:

"

[23:52:49] Learning mode error. Try again.
[23:52:49] Adding devices complete

"

Removind devices works

Adding virtual device works

Add device button on HC2 does not work

Have tried to restart many times, no diffrence..

Believe I have not done anythign special on the system since last time I included a device.

Any hints?

  • Does not work if I wait for an hour or half a day.....

If I use the add button on the HC2 I will loose the internet connection.

Have twice now had to connect my laptop to the HC2 to be able to find the HC2 and set the LAN settings back to DHCP...

When using the + button the system will eventually hang and after power cycling it, the settings will be Static with IP 192.168.81.1

if i remember correctly the hc2 thinks that another device has become master.

have you added any remote control type units recently?

the only way to fix is a call to fibaro support im afraid and they can reset it. its happened to me once before

  • Thanks...

I have added a remote (remotec zrc 90eu) but as far as I recall that was not the last one I have added and only added as regular device, not as a controller.. ... Will take it with support to see..

@torthoIf you hold the add button (+) down for more than a few seconds, the IP address on the HC2 will be reset to 192.168.81.1.  I found this out the hard way - I run VLANs so the HC disappeared off my network altogether.

I guess it's so you can easily reset the IP if you muck up the config, but ideally Fibaro would have put this function on it's own button.
