Noob question: Calculation with variables

Seraphim

Question

Hello Community,

maybe I am stupid or maybe knowledge is missing.

Well, what's the problem? I have created a two QuickApps where amongst other things a global variable is set in each App.

Now I would like to create a scene where the variables are added (var1+var2) and set to another global variable.

But a simple "fibaro.setGlobalVariable("Nameofthevariable", var1 + var2)" does not work. The debugger is telling me "Assertion failed: expected string".

I understand why, but how to deliver a string?

Regards

Andreas

fibaro.setGlobalVariable("Nameofthevariable", tostring(var1 + var2))

  • Thank you jgab. Sometimes it just as easy as this.

Do you also have a suggestion how to get rid of the decimals?

The calculation returns 2.0 for example and I only need 2.
