Steps for physically moving Home Center

fervefdsv

Question

Hello, I need to physically move my HC3 from one floor to another. What would be a good way to do it. More specifically, how to safely/gracefully turn it off? And what do do after starting in new location? I suppose the mesh network should be refreshed to get all the new routing information. Bu where can I do it?

May I suggest to follow next steps:

  1. Create backup
  2. Turn Off HC2
  3. Move to new location
  4. Turn On HC2
  5. See if all devices are response as usual. If not, you might need to reconfigure mesh network. Go to configuration -> Z-Wave network
  6. Please login or register to see this spoiler.

You can choose to reconfigure Entire network or specific device as needed.

I would like to recommend to run

before you move HC2 to identify week spots in your Z-wave network and to estimate what could go wrong if you move HC2 to new location. ( Please copy the table as reference to compare to new data at new location)

After re-location if you want to use

, you must to reconfigure entire mesh network (otherwise HC2 keeps the old data).

  • Well, I'm talking about HC3, but that doesn't matter much, I suppose. What's the procedure to turn off the HC? I don't see any turn off/shutdown button. And just unplugging the cable seems harsh.

  • Looking into the manual, I don't see any mention about power off.
