second ipad does not receive notifications.

cemki

Question

Hello,

I recently bought a new iPad.

I would like both iPads to receive the same notifications.

However, my problem, they do not.

Only the newer iPad receives notifications and the older one not anymore.

Some additional info:

In the Fibaro Access Control Tab it shows up like this: iPad (2) )[CD908D5.....

So it seams that both iPads share the same unique id and the (2) indicates there are 2.

I'am not sure if this is the problem but it seams strange.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Two options:

1. You can login using local user and local IP (just for test)

2. You can add more fibaro ID users also. Click on ">" and "add user"

What type of notification you're using?

What controller you have HCL/HC2/HC3?

  • I've a HC2.

It is the push notifications that only arrive at the new iPad and not at the older one:-(

    Thanks for your response.

    OK..

Please verify that both iPads have selected to allow push notification. (in Access control panel)

  • Yes The two iPad are selected.

However it looks like this: iPad (2) )[CD908D5....

The two iPads share the same line/id, before I had the new iPad it looked like: iPad )[CD908D5....

So the new iPad changed this line to include: (2)

  • I only found one, I think that is because they share the same id?

Please login or register to see this code.

I think the problem is caused because they share the same id.

But I removed the app from the new iPad and re-installed it again, still the same id?

This is a first time that I hear that two mobiles have same device ID?

Please delete one of them from the list and then login again from the iPad.

  • I cannot delete one of them from the list only both.

And yes I tried that already:-(

Also the id I see in HC2 cannot be found in the iPad : settings > general > about section?

What do you mean you cannot delete one of them?

Question, how do you know that the second iPad is in the list?

As I understand you can see only one, so why you think this belongs to both?

How do you know if the second iPad is connected?

Let's try something interesting... allow to all mobiles in the list to receive notification. Might be the second iPad has strange name (like model or other).

  • The reason why I think the second (older) iPad is in the list is this: It was in the list for years, I did not remove it, but added a new iPad.

Since then the line iPad in the mobile list changed to iPad (2) in Access control of HC2.

And push notifications go to the new iPad and not to the older one anymore.

I already have allow notifications to all mobiles in the list?

    Unbelievable...

Question, might be you have same device name on iPads? try to change it and then:

    Turn off new iPad.

Delete all iPads from the list.

Login from old iPad and see if it shows in the list and send notifications.

    Now connect new iPad...

  • Okay I did that and it gives new information.

I gave the new iPad a new name.

Login Fibaro app on the new iPad and in the list I now see the new iPad.

Then I login the Fibaro app on the old iPad and now the new iPad in the list is replaced by the old iPad's name.

This is probably cause by the same id they share.

But first conclusion the iPad listed in the Acces Control list is the one I last logged in on the Fibaro App.

I need to get different id's for the 2 ipads but how?

I re-installed them a few times now but that does not do it.

    let's try different approach.

    Delete iPads from the list.

login to HC2 as different user from one of the iPads.

What do you see now in the list?

  • I added a second user to the HC2.

But the app uses the fibaro id.

In the app I cannot change the user id used?

  • You can create a second Fibaro id but unfortunately you cannot add the same home center to that Fibaro id.

It says that "the home center is already registered to another account".

No, you can add user to any home center..

Personally I have two users on same HC2 with Fibaro ID, see below
