RGBW2 Controller not usable

JoergiNRW

Question

Hello,

I´m trying to include a RGBW2 Controller into my HC2 system.

It´s nothing new to me as I also own some RGBW 1 controllers.

After including the controller (what takes around 20-30 minutes), I receive a message from every configuration ID that "No report was received for parameter XX. The device might not have this parameter." This begins with parameter 1 and ends with parameter 157.

Today I tried to insert an association and did a new soft-reset. After this, the device was not configured. After a second reset, it was again in my devices but the problem was still the same.

After trying to save some other entries into this configuration IDs I get the responses that I added in the attachment.

Of course the module doesn´t work. :(

First I thought, the module is broken, so I returned it to the seller and bought another one from another seller. But it´s still the same problem, so that I don´t think, it´s a problem of the device itself.

Has anybody any idea, what I can do more?

Thanks and regards,

Joerg

  • The interesting thing is, that the powersupply is the same as I used before. Before, there was the older version "RGBW 1" installed on this lamp and worked perfectly.

I didn´t try adding in non-secure mode yet. I will try that now.

That´s the time it needs. All other modules are much more faster. Don´t know why.

    @JoergiNRW

    Last thing you can try

include de device closeby the hc2, try secured including and non secured including

if that doesn't work it has to be something with the current hc2 firmware (or a very bad powersuply for the device)

  • I can´t believe! It works in non-secure mode. :D

The interesting thing is, that I can change the colours and brightness. Also the standard programs are possible. But if i try to start a user-defined program, nothing happens. It only switches itself off if there was something on.

Do you also have a hint for that? :)

I had exactly this problem but with HC3 and the rgbw2. In fact Fibaro told me to return it, it must be faulty. Replacement did the same but like you got it to work installing it in non secure mode. It does not operate the same as the rgbw1 though and fibaro are silent to mu requests. The mk1 operates as I expect, turn a single colour channel on or off and the parent node turns on and off, they sync. With the mkii turning a single channel on does not turn the parent node on so the parent has to be on permanently to turn on or off the white channel, for example. Also it won't desplay the power usage as this is associated to an I'd that's not classes as a  switch...  Out of all the modules I have it's ironic that the new one doesn't work properly. Hope they sort this out I need to buy anoth three....
