smoke detector temperature sensor?

eboy

Question

Hi

Just wondering if you can use the temperature sensor within the smoke alarm to trigger other devices?

i.e. I wish to place the smoke alarm in a cupboard containing computer equipment but use the temperature sensor to also trigger an extract fan if too warm to help cool the cupboard?

Yes, that is possible.

I monitor the temperature of network equipment with the (Fibaro) smoke detector (and also a flood sensor).

  • Many thanks!

Would you think the dimmer 2 would control a 12v dc fan?

It is possible to use a RGBW switch. Robbshop made a small video:

This is a RGBW Controller, not a Dimmer 2.
