HC3 : Quick app for Milight iBox control

AlexPeret

Question

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a Quick app to control a Milight RGBW.

I've found the above topic with a script, but the script is for a Virtual Device and in HC3, if I've correctly understood, Virtual Device has been replaced by Quick app. I'm new to the HC3 word and I don't know ho to "translate" VD script to QA. Is there a method ? I don't have any problems with LUA, but the QA scripting is not so far simple for me.

Thanks for your help.

  • Is there a date for this update ?

I'm sad because all my lights are controlled by a Milight bridge on WIFI and I've understood (with you answer) that I can't use my new HC3 to manage them.... That's too bad !

  • By the way, is there any place where we can ask for issue and requests on the HC3 ?

Heh, there's one saying for this:
The picture is more than a thousand words :)
Now there is no solution other than through third party gw. Personally, I'm also waiting for this to control several controllers. I have RGB + CCT LED strips (which are hot and cold white) and unfortunately Fibaro has no controllers for these LED strips. I don't want to run more systems, so I'm waiting too ..

Well there is UDP support now for QuickApps, so it's just roll up the sleeves and start coding ;-)

    Hi all,

Thanks to the help from other people on this forum I'm currently able to control my Milight lamps via the HC3.

Milight can be operated by UDP, but this has the disadvantage that the lamp does not return his values to HC3. A solution for this is to control it by MQTT, but for this you need the self made Milight Hub (see my post before) and a MQTT broker.  A broker can be easily installed on a Synology NAS or Raspberry PI. MQTT Brokers are also online available.  This works perfect and stable. I can control now the brightness, saturation, color, mode, etc.

Later I will post the QA code here. I'm still fine-tuning everything.

This is an easy quickapp for control the Milight lamps by mqtt.

For this you need also a mqtt broker and an alternative Milight hub to operate the lamps.
