RollerShutter3: moving only while button pressed

RiccardoCanetta

Question

Hi all,

currently I have a motor that (for security reason) moves only while the button of an RF-remote is kept pressed. I would like to get rid of the RF-remote (with this usage, battery drains very quickly) and replace it with RollerShutter3. Is there a way that I can replicate this behaviour so that RollerShutter only moves motor while I keep the web-interface-button (up or down) pressed and stops as soon as I release it? from what I read, momentary switch configuration means that one click starts movement and another click stops it...

Thanks a lot
Riccardo

Nope. momentary switch means you have to keep it pressed.  When you release it the contact breaks hence the motor stops.

In the interface you use the slider to open/close.  you can not keep the button pressed in the GUI ?

Hello. I’m don’t know what you are going to control this way, but I would add that if it is something dangerous, you shouldn’t do it with Z-Wave. Lags DO happen and if you need to stop something quickly and reliably, Z-Wave is no-go)
