QuickApp how do I getProperty of a device

So there is setVariable and getVariable but there is only updateProperty.  I know this is bound to be a dumb questions, but how do I getProperty?

I don't know why why self:updateProperty("value",true) does not work for me. on output from http://192.168.1.16/api/devices/<deviceId> I cannot see property called "value"

 

However I did workaround that works for me and @anthonyc0603  might like

 

on QuickApp deviceId = 111 I set variable searchedKey = "XXX" by self:setVariable("searchedKey","XXX")

 

Then on other QuickApp I look for value of the searchedKey variable by:
