Double relay switches

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Sorry for my (maybe stupid) question but what is the difference between FGS-222 vs FGS-223 vs. FGS-224 smart double switches? I started to buy smart tools for my new house and I don’t want to make a misstake.
Thank you!

There are some differences between max load. and other minor things.

The biggest difference is that the FGS-224 has ZW500 chip.

I have checked the manuals but didn’t find any differences, the max. load is almost same. So the ZW500 chip can be a difference but it is important? I mean is any advatage compare to older chip?
The HC2 can use the advantage of ZW500 chip?

    @nadtom

    main difference:

The device is a Security Enabled Z-Wave Plus product and a Security Enabled Z-Wave Controller must be used in order to fully utilize the product

     I don't know for sure.

I think @akatar , can answer this question for you.

The only thing I know is that, only a ZW500 main powered device can act as a ZW500 router, in you're mesh network. Otherwise it will fall back to ZW300

That with the ZW500 chip etc. is a difference.
But there are even more serious differences regarding the electrical connection and the function of the device.
The FGS-223 as well as the FGS-224 have 2 channels.
With FGS-223 we have a potential coupling with the supply voltage and a current and power measurement.
With the FGS-224 we have 2 potential-free channels and it can also be operated with 24VDC. Then with the FGS-224, the inputs can also be end-coupled from the outputs.
So in my opinion big differences.
The FGS-224 is therefore in direct competition with the Qubino.
Take a closer look at the data, not everything can be seen at first glance. Fibaro should add a little more to the advertising.
    Greetings Frank

    You're correct.

I find the device naming between the switch without and the switch with the relais very similar.

Would prefer a better naming FGS-XXXR or something. But that's personal.

Yes, many shops write only that Fibaro double switch...and no any identification number. I didn’t know at the beginning that you can buy different double switch types.
I have ordered 10pcs FGS-224 today. Thank you guys! Danke schön!

Also to add a penny from my side - 222 does not have scene activation functionality (double, triple press etc.). But at the same time it has better activation time and doesn’t have problem with “missed” presses.

Here´s a pdf that explains pretty well the differences.

That PDF is a joke regarding clarification of TOs question.

    Hi @CharlesO ,

    According to the manuals

FGS224 does not have energy consumption, but FGS223 does have such feature.
