Hello everyone! Here fighting with the coverage

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm new with fibaro and I'm dealing with the coverage to detect some of my devices.

At that moment I have

1 HCL

2 One Plug

4 Motion Sensor

Two of the motion sensors are far from de HCL and are not detected, but they have a "one plug" close to them.

My question is... The "one plug" are also repeaters and wil create de mesh?
Do I have to do something special?

Thank you!!!

Did you try a configuration-> Z-Wave->Mesh reconfiguration for you're motion sensors??

@Chebe

Do you mean when  importing the sensors to the HCL?

Did you try with NWI activated?

Mesh reconfiguration means your motion sensor is already included. Is it?

if not, why not put the motion sensor more close to the HC2 to include, then put it further away en reconfigure Z-wave mesh.

Moving closer or using the NWI option, whatever you suite best i gues. Both is a solution.

In the e-learning module of Fibaro you find:

NWI – Network-Wide Inclusion – disabled by default, enabling allows for adding devices outside of the direct range of a Z-Wave controller, but within range of a repeater of this Z-Wave network

Iam a lazy *abuse* so i would use NWI :-)

Depending on the distance, one could use more mains powered devices in order to build a good mesh and then add battery powered devices, which will communicate with Home Center through the mains powered...

  • Hello,

Thank you every one for your answers.

The problem was with the distance to the plugs.

I configure them properly close to the HCL but then when I connect to into another plug, they lost the connection. They are "only" 8meters away from the HCL with no really walls in the midlle just a door.

    Is this normal?

    Thank you again?

I am not sure if i understand your situation correct.

And what do you mean by "One plug"? The Fibaro wall plug?

So you added the "One Plug" to the HCL, moved it 8 meters away and then it lost connection?

Starting with a new Z-wave network isnt something one will do again often.

I implemented a z-wave network twice because of moving to a new home, so thats not a lot of experience either.

Both times i started the first powered device pretty close to the HomeCenter. (2-3 meter)

Not based on any facts, but i think having the first powered "node" 8 meters away sounds pretty far to be honest.

  • Hello,

Yes sorry, by One plug I mean wall plug (

    )

Ok, I will try to create a closer nodes mesh.

But I read that Zwave can be 100m one from each other in open spaces, so I thought 8 meters indoor could be easy to connect.

Thank you all for your answers. ;)
