Wind speed in m/s please !

Fibaro please, immediately implement the SI unit wind speed in m/s.

In Scandinavia and many other countries, only the unit m/s has been used for a long time.
Fibaro feels hopelessly out of date when you can not offer such a simple thing. The setting m/s can be found in most other home automation products, but not in Fibaro.

All you need is a simple search on the Internet to find information on what is recommended.

Meters per second (m/s) is the SI unit for velocity and the unit recommended by the World Meteorological Organization for reporting wind speeds, and is amongst others used in weather forecasts in the Nordic countries.

Since 2010 the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) also recommends meters per second for reporting wind speed when approaching runways, replacing their former recommendation of using kilometers per hour (km/h).

For historical reasons, other units such as miles per hour (mph), knots (kn)or feet per second (ft/s) are also sometimes used to measure wind speeds.

Historically, wind speeds have also been classified using the Beaufort scale, which is based on visual observations of specifically defined wind effects at sea or on land.

That has been a request for the last four years. Fibaro has never done anything to make it possible for the user to select different scales. On the other hand, Fibaro is seldom on this forum for users.

Yes, that's right, but now that they've launched a "Game changer", I thought it would have the SIS units that other competitors have had for a long time.

The relation between mph and m/s is just a constant factor. Maybe I'm missing the point, but wouldn't it be super easy to have a QA in HC3 to do that conversion? And previously in HC2, why no VD?

By the way, the HC3 internal value is km/h, both api and the dashboard. Not sure where to find the mph

  • It's time to say goodbye to old units like mph.

The international SI system has been around for a very long time, but in many countries the transition is very slow.
The EU (EC) decided that the transition would be completed by 1977.

Britain started in 1965, the Soviet Union in 1975, Germany and France have legislation on switching to SI.

The US decided to start in 1975 where federal authorities and larger companies have already introduced the SI system.

In Sweden, we used the metric system as early as the 19th century.
So it's time to say goodbye to mph, Fahrenheigt, inch, lbh and many other old units.

    Converting km/h to m/s is easy, divide by 3.6 (10 km/h / 3.6 ~ 2.8 m/s).
