FGS-221 for a doorbell, for S1 not always trigger Q1

Dommel

Question

Hi,

I use a FGS-221 to ring my doorbell. Thats works fine.

But what I want, is that the doorbell not always rings when S1 (door button is pressed) is triggered.

For example: At day time I want the doorbell works normal. But when the kids are sleeping, I don't want to hear the bell, but want only get a push message.

Is this possible on a HCL??

This link says it is possible.

However the onward link describing how is broken.

Only hint i can give is that you'll need to use the switch to trigger a scene, rather than q1 directly. On the newer devices you have to use s2 for scene activation, rather than s1.

The other way to do this is put a toggle switch in series with the doorbell buzzer. This allows you to switch off the sound.

Then set the device to always send a notification when the doorbell is pressed. (Not quite what you asked for but is a workaround)

Thanks, I will try something

You could add single relais FGS-221.

Then you could make some scene's

Example

19:00 Hour Q1 Off

08:00 Hour Q1 On.

This you can hardwire in series with you're first one. No need for S1 connection.

What more expensive, but the kids will be sleeping

Is something what @Tim__ suggested anly automated toggle switch.

I have make the solution from Tim_.  (Doorbel not yet silence on certain time, i think that the solution from Flash works fine).
But for now, i start a scene when S2 is triggered. The scene switched Q1.   But the scene only start when S2 is pressed for a longer time (0,5 sec). And not with a short puls.
    how can you fixed this?

I cannot find a parameter to shorten this time. It could also be caused by the reaction time of the HCL.

  • I have looking further. I don't think it is the reaction time of the HCL.

When I pressed the doorbell button very short, I see that the scene [its a block scene]  "scene triggered" and than "running instance: 1", but no doorbell sound.

When I pressed the play button of the scene very short, it do the same, but with the doorbell sound.

When I held pressed the doorbell button (>0,5s), I see that the scene [its a block scene]  "scene triggered" and than "running instance: 1", and also with the doorbell sound.

Is there something what I am doing wrong?

    @akatar,

parameter 4 is auto delay off if I'm correct.

If I'm correct isn't it better to remove the 58.0 "uitzetten" from the scene?

If parameter 4 isn't auto off skip previous sentences. ?

or par 13, bistable is also an option, (perhaps the better one)

  • Parameter 4 is for auto delay off. I'am using this so the "gong" of the doorbell works always correct.

Remove 58.0 "uitzetten, that's were I start with. Also same results.

Par 13 I will try later. The kids are now sleeping.

  • Yes, its working.

    - Par 4 auto delay off. 0,2sec >>  so that the "gong" doorbell works normal.

    - Par 13 = 0 AAN/UIT (default) (i have now idea )

    - Par 14 = Momentary switch (first push is on, second push is off)

    - Par 5 auto delay off. 4sec >> because of Par 14. This turns off the switch automatically (no second push needed)

Later on I will try to keep the doorbell still when the kids are sleeping. I will try this to make 2 different scene's based on time and the doorbell switch.

    Thanks for the support.
