How to implement new templates

knuth

Question

A simple question: When new templates for existing devices are included in a HC2 system update, how do I apply these templates to the device?

- Will it be applied automatically?

- Do I need to soft reconfigure each device?

- Any other action needed?

Similarly, how do I know that a new template for a particular device is included in a system update?

- By reading the release notes?

- Shown somewhere in the HC2 interface after updating? (Where?)

New templates are made by Fibaro, but there are no more updates for the HC2, so don't expect any new templates.
I'm waiting for more than a year for them to add Qubino templates, but that will not happen.
For the HC3, i don't see them suddenly do a lot more support than for the HC2, so if you have that one, though luck.

  • OK, let me rephrase: How will I know if a template has already been implemented in one of the latest HC2 updates (May or July last year, i.e. 4.590 or 4.600)?

My initial questions are still valid. General frustrations over Fibaro (even legitimate ones) are not very helpful.

This is related to device firmware, in some cases device reports 27.0 after update just after the procedure.
Just click "check" (not instal) after successful procedure and correct version will be displayed.

Also new template is available so soft-reconfigure the module after that.

So soft-reconfigure should do the job. The templates are noted in the release notes.
