Link to existing scene

Mark Manning

Question

My apologies if this is already described, I did search, honest!

I've added an Aeotec WallMote Quad to my HC3 and configured the buttons, now I'm adding a second one to the far side of the same room, so want some of the buttons to perform the same functions. How do I link a button to an existing scene? When I try to add a function to a button (Under Devices, [The remote in question], Advanced) the only option seems to be to create a new scene.

Many thanks in advance!

As I understand you have define the device's buttons as a trigger of the scene? Just add more triggers with the new buttons?

  • I've just tried this, and while I can see that it's clearly correct in theory, it completely messes up the button configuration - or at least appears to.

I have, for instance, added an OR group to the Block Scene 'Kitchen Max' in which it is programmed to 'Kitchen Switch - Button 2' or 'Dining Switch - Button 1', but if I now look at the advanced section of each device, it has added the scene to both buttons 1 & 2 on both devices, as per the attached screenshots.

    That's strange... probably bug?

But in reality is it works correctly?

    Take a look on

, it might to reduce number of your block scenes.

Let me know if you need any help to start with that?

I rearranged the buttons so that button 1 on one switch had the same function as button 1 on another etc. - This partially resolved the 'issue' in that the duplication appears within the same button (e.g. 'Scene A' appears twice on Button 1!) but some of the scenes don't appear at all.

As you suspected, this appears to be a display bug, the devices appear to function as per the scenes settings themselves, rather than as per the displayed information on the advanced page of the devices.

Thanks, I'll take a look when I get a chance, probably over the weekend.
