Missing devices in scene creation (built in powerview QA)

Symbiot78

Question

Hi

I added the powerview QA from fibaro standard list of QA's.

it installs

I can add the IP of the powerview HUB

it gets the scenes/automations I've created in the app

But if I want to create a scene and actually use the devices it creates - They're not there.

Anyone know if something special has to be done?

I will be trying calling them in LUA as well.

ok.. so in Lua it works. but not in block..

Create a Quick App and add the LUA commands of the PowerView plugin

After that you can easily use the Quick App buttons for your Block Scenes.

That is exactly the problem: this forum has a mixture of professional or advanced amateur programmers that come with solutions of the type "in the API..." or "make a QA...." or "make this in LUA..." while the other part of the mix doesn't even know what a quick app is, what LUA is and often just doesn't want to know. They want to do some home-automation for dummies and find out they bought an expensive machine that expects you to know programming or to learn it to get the full range of features working. (The features that are implemented, that is.)

Time for a "beginners's" forum and an "advanced" forum ?Telling someone that he needs to make a QA while he has no clue what that is and no time or wish to learn it doesn't help him very much.

  • Hi Wienog

I appreciate where this is coming from and I agree with a lot of it.. but it's also based on a lot of assumptions.

For me.. yes.. I am a beginner.. but I also DO want to learn and I AM trying to learn.. I may not have a desire to start writing big QA's.. but I do understand the concept.

A beginners section would be great but a beginners section needs advanced users as well to help us beginners learn..

some will come for a quickFix.. others will come to get help and learn.. become better.. and help others :)
