Temporary disable alerts from Smoke Sensor

Lkbh31

Question

Hi Forum,

Is there a way I can temporary disable alerts from the smoke sensor for example 30 mins?

We have a grill in our kitchen and the alert goes off every time we use it, so I would like to disable it for like 30 mins and automatic enable it again

Thanks

Most smoke censors are optical.

For kitchen use you need a thermical sensor.

In my opinion its not wise to disable for 30 min if something goes wrong and it will not be enabled you have a kind of false idea of safety.

Perhaps place it further away of water cooker, grill, ventilation, door.

Succes,

  • Unfortunately that is not a solution for me, so being able to pause/mute the alert is what is needed

Well, it is not the habit of a smoke sensor to be disabled, but maybe you can tweak a parameter so it won't responses to a trigger. It is a bit dangerous, like Sjakie said. Changing a parameter takes some wakeup time.
