bridging HAI OmniPro II with Home Center 2

Innervations

Question

Hello,

I have a HAI OMNI PRO II which manages all of the 23 motion sensors in our home. It would be a mammoth job and expense to move them all to ZWave to incorporate them into my HC2.

I have an RS232 Serial to TCP bridge and have been able to program the OMNI PRO II to send a message to any IP address and port on my network whenever one of the motion sensors is tripped.

What I cannot figure out is how to get the HC2 to receive the message and respond. I expect I have to create a virtual device and then use LUA code but I cannot find any details in the manuals or on the Forums.

So to my questions:

  1. I assume the IP address is the address of the HC2 but do I need to specify a port number for the virtual device? I can specify IP address and port within the virtual device but this is for sending messages to this address from the HC2 – not receiving.
  2. Does anyone have an of example LUA code for receiving and interpreting the incoming message? Messages are very short – basically a number corresponding to a particular motion sensor being tripped.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
