Simple scene but getting too many instances

JonnyB

Recommended Posts

I have set up a sole scene for a holiday home, where if there is not movement detected in the hall after 12 hours, then switch off the boiler.

This was to ensure the owner did not forget to switch off the boiler when leaving.

It still comes up with a 'too many instances' warning.

Any help appreciated

Looks like you have HC2 or HCL?  If you have this scene set to run automatically, it will trigger everytime the script runs and the safe condition is met (which is is every few seconds I think).  The script instance then takes 12 hours to complete, during which time many new instances will be started (up to the maximum you have allowed, usually just several).  But you will also see all the warnings.

You will need to think up some new logic. It might neccessitate creating a global variable called "HouseOccupied"...
