Home Center 3 HC3 settings for RGBW analog readings

gMike

Question

Hi,

I really need some help.

I have 2 soil moisture probes wiring in correctly (I believe) into the RGBW unit. Using a multi meter between the ground an IN1 & IN2 i get 3v and 8v readings.

My problem is that no matter what setting I use in HC3 the preview window for each channel always reads zero.

Have I got the wrong end of the stick? Please help me!

Thanks, mike.

Hi @gMike

If you want to read values from your sensors, your RGBW device is incorrectly configured.
Now it is configured to control LED colors and it does not work at all.

You must configure the device as a 0-10V In / Out device.
Then configure each sensor with its correct input and output values.
For example.
If 0V corresponds to 0% RH and 10V corresponds to 100% RH, enter these values in the configuration (sensor Min, Max values).
An output voltage of 5V from the sensor will then correspond to 50% RH.

EDIT

Change the configuration from "Output Dimmer" to "Input" and the type of sensor you have connected.
Here is an example where I have configured two Soil sensors 0 to 100% and two Temperature sensors -20 to 80°C.

It can be a problem to enter sensor values because you must first delete the previous value before you can enter your new values (crazy, but that's how Fibaro apparently wants it :-(

  • I have an update.

The preview window for the main unit is now responding to changes in the sensor input, the colour and brightness bars now move around. The problem has now evolved as the channels themselves don't respond and only read zero as per the image...it is like the device never got the message to stop being an RGBW controller.

I'd really appreciate some help on this.

    Thanks...Mike
