Monitor Remote Water Tank in the House?

Recommended Posts

I'm planning a build where we'll have a water tank which will feed the fish. I would like to have a remote monitor for the water level in the storage tank. If it ever fell below that level it would alert me that the well pump was not keeping it full and I could have it repaired hopefully before we ran out of water.

If there were a way to tie this into a home automation system - all the better - but at the very least I'd settle for some sort of of remote gauges I could mount in the house somewhere. Running dedicated wiring in the ground (vs wireless) is a possibility BUT I need to plan that ASAP.

Is anyone have ideas of it? Any suggestion will be appreciate.
