Gateway connection use some internal command and action between z-wave on gateways, like add device to slave gateway from master gateway. In future updates we will migrate gateway connection to ZW 3.0

But it will work z-wave 2.0 with z-wave 2.0 or 3.0 with 3.0 (mixing will be imposible)

Dear @A.SochaCan you give a date for future updates with migration to the new Z-Wave engine?

I can't imagine that all the people who now have a reasonably working system will install this update.

if installing this beta will i need to add all devices again? (pair all devices again, got more than 100 devices so that's definitely something i dont want to do)

will this beta work to control from Home Assistant?  and does it work with Alexa?

me too, we few times write only for testing, or new installation is new z-wave engine. First migration to test in 3-4 month

if you install beta its stay on old engine, nothing will change for you in z-wave, to switch new engine you must clear your hc3 and on wizard chose new engine (not recommended for normal users)

I just updated. Worked fine. Everything seems ok. New Energy panel is nice.

Have not reset and updated to 3.0 though. Just updated the firmware.

the new engine support S2 encryption - and as there is no way to "upgrade/change" device included without encryption or with S0 encryption to run with S2 - one have anyway to exclude/re-include all devices (that supports S2). So yes, there are users who will get that way.

Of course for now, as there is no migration for other user data (like scenes/QAs), one need to save them manually (or just export in case of QAs) before factory reset and before switching to new engine.

I have switched to Zwave 3. I see that the encryption works well. You can see nicely in the overview (with a lock) which device is secure and which is not. Support for existing Zwave devices of other well-known brands does not always work (Qubino, Philio Technology etc.) Also the parameters are missing and these cannot be added manually. This makes it impossible to switch to a production environment.

I will create a ticket and see how this is responded to.

We are working on applying parameters template to all known devices, list will be updated in next beta version.

Why is an update always a complete update? isn't it easyer that you can update "a template" list, once in a while?

The way it is for now, this is one of many things we would like to optimize in the future.

Just updated to the beta. It gives to me internal server error 500 ...

Is the backup restores the firmware to the previous version?

    Hello,

Where can i see which z-wave engine is running on my Fibaro HC3?

    Thanks.

It's unclear, because Fibaro developers not user friendly :)

But if you can see those tabs - Smart Start | Firmware Update in Settings -> 16. Z-Wave - you are definitely on Z-Wave 3.0 engine

As Fibaro said - Transfer from Z-Wave Engine 2.0 to 3.0 in plans - it will be ready in 2-3 months. But in real world it means 6-8 months, or more....

and just in case someone need to test it in code (which make sense for QAs or scenes which calls zwave api functions), one can test it with:
